Important Notice

Ariadne IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR PROFESSIONAL MENTAL HEALTH CARE. Please read Section 3 carefully before using our service.


1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Ariadne at ariadne.guide ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Ariadne ("we," "our," or "us").


2. Description of Service

Ariadne is a conversational AI platform designed for personal reflection and insight, based on the teachings of Artie Wu. The Service includes:

  • Conversations with Ariadne, an AI guide
  • Session summaries
  • Email follow-ups and continuation prompts

The Service is designed to help you explore your inner landscape, identify patterns, and gain insights about yourself.


3. Ariadne IS NOT PROFESSIONAL MENTAL HEALTH CARE — Important Disclaimers

3.1 Not a Mental Health Service

Ariadne IS NOT:

  • Licensed mental health treatment, counseling, or psychological treatment
  • A substitute for professional mental health care
  • Medical advice or diagnosis
  • A crisis intervention service
  • Staffed by licensed mental health or medical professionals

Ariadne IS:

  • A tool for reflection and personal insight
  • An AI-powered conversation partner
  • Based on the teachings and methodology of Artie Wu
  • For informational, educational, and entertainment purposes only

3.2 AI Disclosure

You understand and acknowledge that:

  • Ariadne is an artificial intelligence, not a human
  • AI responses are generated by machine learning models
  • The AI may make mistakes or provide imperfect guidance
  • The AI cannot fully understand your unique situation

3.3 No Professional Relationship

Using Ariadne does not create:

  • A clinician-client or professional care relationship
  • A doctor-patient relationship
  • Any professional duty of care
  • Any confidentiality protections beyond our Privacy Policy

3.4 Seek Professional Help

If you are experiencing:

  • Thoughts of self-harm or suicide
  • A mental health crisis
  • Symptoms that require diagnosis
  • Severe anxiety, depression, or other mental health conditions

Please seek help from a qualified mental health professional, call a crisis hotline, or go to your nearest emergency room.

3.5 Your Responsibility

You agree that:

  • You are responsible for your own mental health decisions
  • You will seek professional help when needed
  • You will not rely solely on Ariadne for mental health support
  • You understand the limitations of AI-based guidance

3.6 A Note on Large Language Model (LLM) Technology

Ariadne is built using large language model (LLM) technology, which is a rapidly evolving field. You understand and acknowledge the following:

Third-Party Technology. We rely on third-party AI providers to power the conversational capabilities of our Service. We do not control the underlying AI models and cannot guarantee their behavior in all circumstances.

Inherent Limitations. LLM technology, while powerful, has known limitations:

  • AI may generate responses that are inaccurate, inappropriate, or inconsistent
  • AI may occasionally produce unexpected or unintended outputs despite safety measures
  • AI responses may not always align with our intended guidelines or guardrails
  • The technology may behave differently as underlying models are updated

No Guarantee of Safety Measures. While we implement safety protocols and content guidelines, no AI system is perfect. Despite our best efforts:

  • The AI may occasionally bypass or fail to follow our safety guidelines
  • Responses may sometimes be unhelpful, misleading, or not suitable for your situation
  • Technical failures or unexpected behaviors may occur

Assumption of Risk. By using Ariadne, you expressly acknowledge and assume all risks associated with interacting with LLM-based AI technology, including but not limited to:

  • Receiving responses that are inaccurate or not appropriate for your circumstances
  • Unexpected AI behavior that does not align with our stated guidelines
  • Any consequences arising from decisions you make based on AI-generated content

Responses from Ariadne (the AI guide) are generated by AI and should not be considered medical, psychological, mental health, financial, or legal advice. Ariadne is a personal reflection tool, not a substitute for professional mental health, counseling, financial, or legal services.

For Reflection Only. All content generated by Ariadne is provided for informational, reflective, and entertainment purposes only. You should not rely on AI-generated content for medical, legal, financial, or other professional decisions.


4. Eligibility

4.1 Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to use Ariadne.

4.2 Capacity

By using the Service, you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

4.3 Restrictions

You may not use Ariadne if:

  • You are under 18 years of age
  • You have been previously banned from the Service
  • You are using the Service on behalf of someone else without authorization

5. Account Registration

5.1 Account Creation

To use Ariadne, you must create an account with a valid email address. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information
  • Keep your login credentials secure
  • Notify us of any unauthorized access
  • Not share your account with others

5.2 Account Security

You are responsible for all activity under your account. We are not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorized use of your account.


6. Acceptable Use

6.1 Permitted Use

You may use Ariadne for:

  • Personal reflection and insight
  • Exploring your thoughts and feelings
  • Working through personal challenges
  • Self-discovery and growth

6.2 Prohibited Use

You may NOT use Ariadne to:

  • Harm yourself or others
  • Generate content that is illegal, abusive, or harmful
  • Attempt to manipulate or "jailbreak" the AI
  • Collect data about other users
  • Interfere with the Service's operation
  • Resell or commercialize access to the Service
  • Use the Service if you are in active crisis (please seek professional help)

7. Subscription and Payment

7.1 Free Trial

We may offer free trial sessions. Trial terms will be specified at signup.

7.2 Paid Subscription

After any free trial, continued access requires a paid subscription.

7.3 Billing

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as selected
  • Payment is processed through our payment provider
  • Prices may change with 30 days notice

7.4 Cancellation

  • You may cancel your subscription at any time
  • Access continues until the end of your billing period
  • No refunds for partial periods

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Our Content and Technology

Ariadne, including our AI systems, methodologies, prompts, insights, analysis, pattern recognition, session summaries, and all content generated by our Service, is our exclusive intellectual property protected by applicable laws. You may not:

  • Copy, reproduce, or distribute our content or generated outputs
  • Reverse engineer our AI, algorithms, or systems
  • Use our branding, methodology, or generated insights without permission
  • Create derivative works from our content or analysis
  • Claim ownership of insights, patterns, or analysis generated by our Service

8.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of the messages and information you submit to the Service (your typed messages, dreams you describe, situations you share). By using the Service, you grant us a license to:

  • Process your submitted content to provide the Service
  • Store your submitted content as described in our Privacy Policy
  • Generate insights, analysis, and summaries based on your content (which remain our IP)
  • Use anonymized, aggregated data to improve the Service

8.3 Clarity on Ownership

You own what you share. The words you type, the dreams you describe, the situations you bring to the conversation — these remain yours. You may request deletion of your data at any time per our Privacy Policy.

We own the underlying methods and system-generated analyses. Our methodology, the insights generated by our AI, session summaries, pattern recognition, and analytical outputs are our intellectual property.

License to Use Your Data. By using Ariadne, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, process, analyze, and learn from the content you submit to the Service for the purposes of:

  • Providing and personalizing the Service for you
  • Improving our AI systems, methodologies, and technology
  • Training and enhancing our models and algorithms
  • Developing new features and services
  • Conducting research and analysis (in anonymized or aggregated form)

Improvements Belong to Us. Any improvements, enhancements, or innovations we make to our technology, AI systems, methodologies, or services — including those derived from or informed by user data — are and shall remain our exclusive intellectual property. Your license grant does not entitle you to any ownership interest in our technology or any improvements we make.

In Plain Terms: Your words are yours. But if your conversations help us build better AI, those improvements belong to us. This is how we continuously make Ariadne better for everyone.

8.4 Feedback

If you provide feedback or suggestions, we may use them without compensation or attribution.


9. Privacy

Your use of Ariadne is subject to our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.


10. Crisis Protocol

10.1 Detection

Our AI may detect signs of potential crisis, including:

  • Expressions of self-harm or suicidal thoughts
  • Severe distress requiring immediate professional help

10.2 Response

When crisis indicators are detected, we will:

  • Provide crisis resources and hotline numbers
  • Encourage seeking professional help
  • May pause certain features until you acknowledge safety information

10.3 Limitations

We cannot:

  • Contact emergency services on your behalf
  • Guarantee detection of all crisis situations
  • Provide real-time crisis intervention
  • Replace professional crisis support

If you are in crisis, please call 988 (Suicide Prevention Lifeline) or go to your nearest emergency room.


11. Disclaimers

11.1 "As Is" Service

Ariadne IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING:

  • Merchantability
  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Non-infringement
  • Accuracy or reliability of content
  • Uninterrupted or error-free service

11.2 AI Limitations

We do not warrant that:

  • AI responses will be accurate, helpful, or appropriate
  • The Service will meet your specific needs
  • The Service will be available at all times
  • Errors or defects will be corrected

11.3 No Outcome Warranty

WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES REGARDING ANY PERSONAL GROWTH, PSYCHOLOGICAL, OR OTHER OUTCOMES FROM USING THE SERVICE.


12. Limitation of Liability

12.1 Exclusion of Damages

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Ariadne SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
  • Loss of profits, data, or goodwill
  • Personal injury or emotional distress
  • Any damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service
  • Any damages arising from AI-generated content or unexpected AI behavior

12.2 Cap on Liability

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.


13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ariadne, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Any decisions you make based on AI-generated content

14. Dispute Resolution

14.1 Informal Resolution

Before filing any legal claim, you agree to contact us at legal@ariadne.guide and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

14.2 Arbitration

Any disputes not resolved informally shall be resolved through binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. Arbitration will be conducted in California, unless otherwise agreed.

14.3 Class Action Waiver

YOU AGREE TO RESOLVE DISPUTES INDIVIDUALLY AND WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN CLASS ACTIONS.


15. Termination

15.1 By You

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support@ariadne.guide.

15.2 By Us

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for:

  • Violation of these Terms
  • Abusive or harmful behavior
  • Non-payment
  • Any other reason at our discretion

15.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

  • Your access to the Service will cease
  • Your data will be handled per our Privacy Policy
  • Provisions that should survive will survive (disclaimers, limitations, etc.)

16. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.


17. General Provisions

Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Ariadne.

Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.

Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right does not waive that right.

Governing Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.

19. Acknowledgment

BY USING Ariadne, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT:

  • You have read and understood these Terms
  • You understand Ariadne is not a substitute for professional mental health care
  • You understand the limitations of AI/LLM technology
  • You assume the risks associated with AI-generated content
  • You are at least 18 years old
  • You will seek professional help if needed
  • You agree to be bound by these Terms

These Terms of Service are effective as of January 28, 2026.
