Ariadne — A Tool for Reflection and Insight
Last Updated: February 2026
Overview
Ariadne ("we," "our," or "us") provides a conversational AI platform for personal reflection and insight at ariadne.guide. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, where it goes, how we protect it, and your rights.
We take your privacy seriously. You may share deeply personal information with us; we treat that as a sacred trust.
For our terms of use, see our Terms of Service.
Data We Collect
- Account information — Email and name (from our authentication provider)
- Conversational content — Messages you send, AI responses, session summaries
- Interpretive Analysis — Our analysis of the conversational content you share
- Crisis event records — For safety when our system detects potential crisis
- Usage data — Session frequency, engagement metrics
- Email preferences and communication history — Opt-ins, summaries, support
Third-Party Services
Ariadne uses third-party services to operate. Here's what gets shared and why:
AI Processing — Your conversation messages and session context are sent to our AI provider to generate responses. Conversations are processed using anonymous internal IDs — your email and name are never sent to the AI.
Authentication — Your email and login credentials are managed by a third-party authentication provider for account security.
Email — If you opt in, your email address and session summaries are shared with our email provider to send you check-ins and recaps. You can opt out anytime in Settings.
Payments — When you subscribe, payment details (card, billing address) are handled by our payment processor. We never store card numbers.
Hosting — All data is stored on US-based servers with encryption at rest.
Each provider is bound by their own privacy policies. We select providers with strong data protection practices and limit what we share to the minimum needed for each service.
How We Protect Your Data
Your personal information is encrypted both in storage and in transit. Identity fields like your email and name receive an additional layer of encryption — they can't be read even with direct database access.
Your conversations, dreams, and insights are stored separately from your identity information, linked only by anonymous internal IDs.
We follow standard security practices including TLS encryption for all connections, log redaction of personal data, and cryptographic verification of third-party communications.
Your Rights
- Deletion: You can request deletion of your account and all associated data. There is a 30-day grace period during which deletion can be cancelled. After 30 days, your data is permanently deleted. Some anonymized aggregate data may be retained for service improvement.
- Data export: You can request an export of your data (available on request).
- Email opt-out: You can opt out of all non-essential emails in Settings.
- Access: You can view your conversation history, session summaries, and arc progress within the app.
To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@ariadne.guide.

Data transfers: Your data is processed in the United States. By using Ariadne, you consent to this transfer.

Crisis and Safety
If our system detects potential crisis situations, we may retain crisis event records for safety purposes even after account deletion. Crisis detection is automated and designed to connect you with appropriate resources. We do not share crisis information with third parties except as required by law.
AI-Generated Content
Responses from Ariadne (the AI guide) are generated by AI and should not be considered medical, psychological, or professional mental health advice. Ariadne is a personal reflection tool, not a substitute for professional mental health or counseling services. If you are in crisis, please contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988).
Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication (keeping you logged in), session management, and security (e.g. beta access). We do not use advertising trackers or sell data to advertisers.
Children's Privacy
Ariadne is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.
California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what we collect, delete your data, opt out of sale (we do not sell your data), and non-discrimination for exercising your rights.
Changes to This Policy
We will update this policy as our practices evolve. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
